Here is everything you need to know...
How to find recipes
My favourite place for cleaning recipes is the dōTERRA blog.
The two main resources I use for creating blends are the Essential Life Book and the Emotions & Essentials Oils book (mentioned in detail below).
I also regularly check The Inspired Little Pot website as she has fantastic recipes and you can also purchase your DIY ingredients from there.
I also love these ones from eBay. We have three of them, they go all night and you can have the light on or off. They aren't the prettiest, but they do the job!
If you want something prettier (and keen to support a small business in the process), then I also have this one from Ava Lola Organics - it is fantastic!
I bought this one from Amazon and I get asked about it all the time. It's actually just a nail polish holder!
I also love this one from dōTERRA - so beautiful!
Labels are available
for you to purchase :)
You can purchase some from my website here, which you can use for cleaning and blends.
I also love the Wild Essence range too :)
When I first started blending, I actually just used a label maker from Office Works and we sometimes still use this for random sprays that we make. Works a treat and is so cost effective!
Blending and DIY
To make the most of your oils (and to save yourself some money), you’re going to want to start blending and diluting your oils into roller bottles and spritzers, or even make your own skincare or personal care products.
For high quality amber glass rollers, bottles and smaller spray bottles, I use Pack My Product because their delivery time and service is so great. You can order a box of rollers and have them on your doorstep 48 hours later.
You can also get some fantastic aluminium spray bottles from Kmart for $2!! These are great to use for a surface spray, bathroom spray, mould spray, stain remover, and even glass cleaner!
*Remember to always use glass or aluminium as the oils will break down plastic.
Here are some quick and easy cleaning recipes:
There are plenty of other options, however, for roller bottles, sprays, etc.:
Other useful tools:
Oil Key for pushing roller balls into your bottle.
Pump top for Fractionated Coconut Oil.
If you are getting into the DIY projects (e.g dishwasher tablets, toilet blocks, surface spray, oven cleaner etc.), you will start to notice that there are a number of key things you need, and it's much more cost effective to purchase in bulk. There's some great recipes on the doTERRA Blog, and those that are enrolled with me have access to my cleaning eBook.
Fractionated Coconut Oil for making blends, applying oils to your skin, baby wipes, and basically everything! I only ever use the dōTERRA one when I oil cleanse my face with Lavender in the mornings :)
Baking soda for dishwasher tablets, carpet cleaner, toilet blocks, bathroom spray etc.
Citric Acid (for dishwasher tablets, bath bombs etc)
Epsom Salts (for an essential oil bath, duh!)
Bees Wax (for massage balm)
Magnesium Flakes (for your Lemon essential oil bath to rid your body of toxins and a magnesium spray for sleep)
For Essential Oil Education:
Essential Life Book
This is the OIL BIBLE!! Anybody that invests in purchasing pure therapeutic grade essential oils needs to have this. If you’re unsure of how to support an ailment, body system or benefit to your body, you need only search the book by ailment, body system, or topic to see the oils that will be beneficial for that.
You can also purchase the Essential Life 'Basics', which is perfect to carry with you in your handbag or backpack.
Some people choose to get this book instead. This also comes as an App. It's about $11.00, which isn’t cheap by ‘App’ standards, but you will use it every day and it will never cost you another cent.
Healing Power of Essential Oils
Emotions and Essential Oils
I probably use this just as much, if not more, than the Essential Life book.
People are often so focused on how the oils can help them physically (which is amazing, because they're obviously great for that), but forget about the emotional benefits.
In Emotions & Essential Oils, essential oils are introduced as powerful emotional healers. It bridges the gap between the physical and emotional aspects of essential oils and creates a user-friendly guide for taking charge of your emotional health.
Each oil has a little spiel about how it can support you emotionally (e.g. Frankincense is the Oil of Truth and can help unlock trauma) and then it lists the positive emotions and negative emotions attached to each oil.
There's also an 'emotions wheel' that you can buy which I love - I have it stuck up where my oils are so that I can always reference it.
I have so many beautiful Ishk Jewels crystal necklaces (and a ring) and I never leave the house without them. They are so stunning and protect my energy always.
I also have a beautiful diffuser bracelet (which you can put a drop of oil on so you smell amazing during the day and are getting the emotional benefit) from Luna Rose Design. P.s. you can use CALMCOMPOUND10 for a discount too :)
